Service Description
On this tour, you will meander through the tree-lined, cobblestone streets of Historic Georgetown where you will learn the richly varied history of the neighborhood. From a president to politicians, architects, businessmen, and one delightful chef, this tour has it all. You will learn the history of the C&O canal and the factories that dotted it, discover what a spite house is, see where Jackie & John Kennedy lived, see the site of an archaeological dig that happened right in the middle of the neighborhood, and walk past an 18th century tavern that served beer to wayward travelers. But there is more - historic churches, beautiful Victorian rowhouses, fire badges, locations where Hollywood movies were shot, back alleys where nefarious characters drank and gambled, and a stop on the Underground Railroad.
